About Commercial Revitalization Division
DSLBD’s Commercial Revitalization Division supports the revitalization of DC's neighborhood commercial districts and small businesses by providing technical and funding assistance in targeted neighborhoods to retain DC businesses and design and improve storefronts and streetscapes (DC Main Streets, CD-TAP, and other programs). It also promotes business neighborhood districts and manages the certification, annual tax assessment projections, and charter extension process for DC's business improvement districts.
Businesses currently operating in DC neighborhood commercial corridors can receive help with: marketing, storefront improvements, expanding their product/service line to meet market demand, opening additional locations, and other assistance tailored to businesses’ needs.
The Commercial Revitalization Division also helps business owners interested in opening a retail store, service business, or restaurant with obtaining market and business climate information, site identification and selection, and navigating regulatory requirements to open and operate a business in the District.
